Hotface Welding

Hotface welding can be carried out in all refractory areas above the glass bath surface. We use varying designs and sizes of lances to reach difficult-to-access points, such as the crown, port necks and burner area. We monitor the work process throughout using technologies from cameras to endoscopes.

Coldface Welding

Executed outside the furnace, coldface welding is generally chosen to seal expansion joints gas-tight after the heat-up of the furnace. Our range of lance sizes and combinations means we can access all expansion joints, including the hard-to-reach areas such as behind buckstays and between burner ports. These reliable seals are essential to minimise NOx emissions from furnace systems, limiting the uncontrolled entry of false air into the combustion process.
